Spiritual Nugget

This may be my new favorite 'quote'. It was in the sermon I listened to today on my run- Pastor is Mark Driscoll based out of Mars Hill Church in Seattle. He was talking about spiritual gifts; a great sermon series that I would highly recommend. Here goes: 'At the cross, mercy and justice kiss.' Marinate on that. Blessings to you my friends.

2 Pots and a Baking Dish

Creativity will come in to play tomorrow as 3 of us Coopers attempt Turkey Dinner with 2 pots, a baking dish, and a wooden spoon. I have the bare necessities in my kitchen! It will be delicious though. Here are some shots of our last few days in North Cali. Ryan and I today at the 'Pacific Side' of the bridge
Cooper girls at the Berringer Winery

As Ryan says, "Dim Sum good Chinese foods." And it was.
It's Crab Season here in the 'Frisco'. Dungeness definitely tastes different than 'Alaskan King' (saltier), but it is still finer lickin good.
Coopers at V. Sattui Winery... yes, we bought an entire case to take home!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL!

Cooper Time

Mom and Ryan Muir Woods
North on HWY 1, Point Reyes lies on a penninsula due west of the San Andres fault. There are 302 steps to get down to this lighthouse. I know I say this a lot, but this place is breathtaking. We drove up the coast from Muir Woods.

The promised pic of those biker chicks.

INSPI(RED)

WONDERFUL WEEKEND HERE IN SAN FRANCISCO!!!!! I am so blessed to have amazing friends! My red-headed beauties were in. Kim came for the week in between Euro-trips, and Chels had a Chemical Engineering conference here in the city as well. We tore up the city by the bay. Good food, good friends, good laughs, good sites, great conversations. I am such a lucky girl! Children of the 80s unite.
We stopped at Ghirardelli after we biked the Golden Gate. You wouldn't want to be on the negative side of calories! For some reason I can not get the pic of the 3 of us in our helmets up, but I will try again soon! L-R, Chelsea (Collins) Salinas, Kimberly Rae Dodson.. and the token blonde.
Added BONUS! Lauren from Boston was in town too! Great girl time. This is the 3 of us at V.Sattui winery in the 'Valley'. It was an incredible afternoon.
Who is more beautiful, Kim or the Sunset? I think they are equal.
OTHS meets the top of Coit tower. Side note: we spent so much time reminiscing 96-00 in grand ol' O'fallon, IL. Side-splitting laughter frequently followed.
Trolley in the Rain- and it's still awesome!
Tuesday night we had a romantic picnic at Crissy Field by our favorite bridge! Highlights include Sourdough, Brie, Salami, MERLOT, raspberries, dark chocolate. A San Francisco Treat. Attn: my future husband, I really enjoy things like this! We were all practicing for that some day when we get all grown up....
Me in a tree. Muir Woods. Awesome!

Alcatraz

I feel like Alcatraz introduces itself. It's just absolutely gorgeous from the city, and it's absolutely creepy up close. Once you get to the island, you receive a headset that takes you on a tour through the prison. Voices and stories from old inmates are featured... Alcatraz Island from the Ferry
Beautiful stairs up to the building
The Warden's Home has seen better days; it certainly did not look like this when the prison closed in 64.
All you have....
Bullet holes left in the walls from the 'great escape' (attempted anyway)
They have a 'city' theme with Michigan Ave, Times Square, and Broadway

The Definition of Beautiful

You know, sometimes people ask how it is to work with cancer patients everyday. Well, click on this link and you will see.

I am loving this new campaign by Bristol-Myers Squibb. Watch all 4 videos. My patients have truly introspective and humbling views on life, and they are just the most incredibly beautiful and strong people.

Merci Naomi

My beautiful, wonderful, cultured friend Naomi was in this weekend. I know her from Nashville, but she is of Guyanese heritage and hails originally from Montreal. Yeah, she's incredible and it's so fun when she slips into her first language of French. What fun. We had a great time eating every persuasion of great food, and she helped me through my first Dim Sum experience. She's also a public health junkie like myself, and it was great to bounce professional plans off of a fellow Christian and someone 'in the NGO/CDC/MPH know'. We are going to open up clinics all over the world; she'll be Naomi Prashad MD, ACNP, MPH, RN by then... my letters are still to be determined! (the least the GRE is over) Anyone is welcome to join in our hematological efforts. Plan now for the National AIDS conference Mexico City 2008. Aside from our plans to save the world, we took a little time to have some fun... The entrance to the caves at Rutherford Winery
Nai and her purple. Beringer Wineries.
Our slogan. This silhouette is a part of a huge mural in the 'Mission' district. They have streets of walls just painted to the max with political/humanitarian/activist work.
Nai and her pirate friend down on Fisherman's Wharf. We saw Pirates everywhere this weekend. Random. Nai's camera is better, so she has a lot of the GREAT pictures; I'll share them with you later. Nai, your visit was such a blessing!
