Boston Collage

My friends, we've come upon the last week of my time here in Boston, so I am posting some pics of the different areas... The North End (Little Italy..home of the authentic cannolis)
The Famous Citgo sign which can be seen from many places.. it highlights Fenway
enough said
A side street of Beacon Hill. Beacon Hill is where the rich folks live. JFK was raised here; John Kerry currently resides... the architecture is breathtaking.
A beaut of a city!

The Charles

Instead of running today, I walked my normal 'route' and took pictures.... absolutely breathtaking! I am so fortunate to live right by the Charles River which separates Boston from Cambridge. The Red Line of the 'T' goes over this bridge into MIT and Harvard Sq.
MIT (can you see the dome?)
I love sailboats
If this doesn't inspire you to run, I don't know what would!
Despite the fact that I walked instead of ran, I still got my workout today as I took a wrong turn at Central Sq. I was trying to go to my cousin's house which is right by Hahvahd. I ended up at MIT. oops! That's an extra little mile or so. It was a great day off today- I could certainly handle another. I am excited to start my next assignment in (drumroll please) San Francisco!! I only work 3 days a week- sounds like lots of beach time to me!

Busy Busy....

The past week has been quite the whirlwind! Ryan Cooper and friends were in town this weekend. It was so great to do all of the Boston tourist stuff all over again. Have I mentioned yet today that I am in love with this city? It is just absolutely amazing. Our visit was so great- Ryan's friends came and we all just had a blast. I was very excited to spend more time with his roommates. I really like them- that makes me so glad because it means he has good taste in people....and he is so cute as always. I don't think he reads this, so I can feel free to gush. On Sunday we went to the Museum of Science- they have this special exhibit called Body World. It's a plastination exhibit. Basically they replace the fluid that would be in our tissues with synthetic rubber and plastic polymers to preserve the body. So it was all of these real, whole bodies that they had dissected to show different organs/muscle/nerve systems. The exhibit also included organs with cancerous tumors, hearts s/p infarcts, brain hemorrhages etc. So cool! Ryan and I on our way to the North End
He's so cute.. we went up to ME for some lobstah
Friends at the Snow Patrol concert last night. I LOVE Snow Patrol
Well, I am going to sign off now. It's been the hardest week of work all summer. Tomorrow is my day off (PTL) and I have much to do. The New York gig fell through last minute, so I am back to square 1 for the next assignment. God sure does work in mysterious ways! Stay tuned..

The vacation continues: Portland, ME

Indian Head Rock... check out that profile. This is in Casco Bay off the coast of Portland
Portland Head Light; built upon the orders of the one and only George Washington in 1791. Gorgeous!
The water was stunning; the rocks and trees breathtaking. Portland is the cutest little granola town. Freshest seafood I have ever had in my life. Maine has just tons to offer. No pics of us girls this weekend as I have pink eye. Gross. In the game so hot or no hot, it would definitely qualify for no hot!

Swordfish

I feel this is blog worthy... I have successfully cooked my first fish meal. I have no idea why I was so intimidated of it before! It was delicious, if I do say so myself. I topped it off with some fresh mango/papaya salsa. Yummo. Well, back to my National Geographic film on Africa. Cheers to all.
