Please Sir, May I Have Another?

In case you didn't know, I have the most wonderful boyfriend ever. In case you didn't know! He surprised me this weekend and took me to Lake Chelan in central Washington. We went wine tasting to wineries around the lake, had a nice little picnic, and enjoyed our last weekend together for a while! The wine tasting was great..... very lighthearted and giggly. I think you get where I am going with that!
Friday is my last day at work. Britt flies in Saturday morning and we head out of town with Frannie (the Tuscon) on Sunday. I am sort of dreading leaving Mike, but I would be lying if I said I wasn't looking forward to 2 months off! (Just like I am in college again!) Lake Chelan
Grapevines on the hillside... LOVE IT!

Our picnic at the 'Apple Inn'. Ahh, Washington.

My Hood

Perhaps it's a good sign that I've been here 5 months and I am just getting around to the blog entry regarding my neighborhood! I am living in Tower 801 at the corner of 8th and Pine. Pine runs parallel with and is one block north of Pike. Pike place market is at the corner of Pike and 1st... all that to say that I am right in the heart of 'downtown.' I'm in the retail core, and I've been surprisingly well behaved! This city is very small and extremely easy to navigate. Lucky me! It's very manageable, and I love it! Tower at 801. I am in 20E
One of the neighborhood starbucks....

Sigh
From the Highway, take a Right at Niketown onto Pike and a left onto 8th; Welcome Home!

I need to hit this up!
This is the convention center which is at 8th and Pike... you would not believe some of the conventions they have here in Seattle. Let me just say, one weekend there were a lot of people dressed like animals.......

No Day But Today

This post is a review of my last week, backwards. It's been just wonderful, and of course the days are just flying by. I am down to 10 days left of work, and 2 weeks left in Seattle. I am beginning to have some 'senioritis' at work as I can't wait to have 2 1/2 months off! I am not, however, excited in the least to leave Seattle. The saving grace is that I know I'll be back here in August to live permanently! Get excited. Here goes on my wonderful week! Today I relaxed and Mike and I finalized some plans for our European get away. Kind of nice to start the week out feeling 'ahead'! View of Rainier from my balcony.
Saturday we went to a financial seminar at church; it is my charge now to be an even better steward of my money and to learn the lingo of investments and home buying! (for the future... don't freak out!) Friday night was happy hour after work with some nurse buddies. It's always fun to go out with the girls, and this week certainly warranted a glass of wine after work on Friday! I've discovered about myself that I can't work (healthily) with (cancer) patients 5 days a week. There's just not enough time for me to re-charge on the weekend to be able to bring my full game like I want too! I've also discovered that it's been so nice to travel and not be somewhere longer than 3 months. It's allowed me to get as close as I want to all of my patients, and when I leave, I can assume that they are all doing wonderfully! Staying here 5 months has not afforded that opportunity!
Another picture from my balcony. The Paramount Theatre. Rent was showing there this week, so I hopped over to buy a same day ticket for $20! I sat in the 2nd row orchestra pit! I cried through the whole 2nd half. It was the best date I've ever had with myself. NO DAY BUT TODAY!

Last weekend Mike and I flew home to spend the weekend with our families! I got to meet his niece and nephew, Carson (2) and Olivia (9 months), and we sort of made our 'debut' to my family. It was a little 'under the microscope' if you catch my drift, but it was so amazing to see everyone! This is the view of the city from our seats at the Cards game. Too bad they lost 13-0. Yikes!
